We are thrilled to extend an invitation to join our 8-week summer internship program in Kansas City!
Our primary aim is to facilitate your spiritual growth and foster a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Throughout the program, we will engage in book studies, serving opportunities, and leadership development activities. It is our desire that, through this experience, you would not only deepen your understanding of yourself and your spiritual gifts, but also enhance your teamwork skills.

Internship Experience Highlights
During your participation in the internship, you will engage in various experiences aimed at enriching your spiritual journey and fostering connections within the King’s Church community.
Host Home: Throughout the duration of the internship, you will reside in a host home, providing you with a unique opportunity to form connections with members of the King’s Church family.
St. Louis Trip: As part of our commitment to community beyond our local church, we will visit Jubilee Church in St. Louis, Missouri, a member of our Confluence Church family. This trip will be dedicated to learning and building relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
King’s Students Leadership: You will have the opportunity to serve on our King’s Students Leadership Team, engaging in activities such as leading small groups and fostering relationships with students, thereby growing your discipleship abilities.
NewDay Youth Summer Camp: As a member of the King’s Students Leadership Team, you will have the opportunity to join us for a powerful week at our annual youth summer camp, NewDay. As a cabin leader for students from King’s Church, you will participate in various activities, including games, worship, and impactful sessions on the Word of God. This is an amazing way to foster connections with youth and leaders from Confluence churches across the Midwest!
Serve Day: Embrace the opportunity to participate in Serve Day, an event where King’s Church collaborates with local businesses and organizations across Kansas City to serve the community. This day embodies our commitment to serving others as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
These experiences are all intentionally designed to deepen your faith, broaden your connections, and equip you for a life of service and discipleship.
Growth Opportunities
Embark on a transformative journey of spiritual and personal growth through various avenues offered during the summer internship at King’s Church.
Mentorship: Each intern will be paired with a dedicated mentor, providing invaluable guidance and support as you navigate both spiritual insights and life's challenges.
Book Study: Engage in enriching discussions as part of the internship team. Throughout the internship experience, we will delve into two books: “Knowing God” by J.I. Packer and “A Spirit-Filled Church” by Terry Virgo. We believe these resources will deepen your understanding of God's character and the role of the Holy Spirit in your life. We hope these books will be beneficial in your understanding of who God is as our internship team reads the Bible in its entirety in 90 days.
Leadership Development: Grow as a leader through hands-on experience serving with King’s Students, leading small groups, and imparting Biblical truth to King’s Kids. These opportunities will foster personal and spiritual growth as you learn to lead, care for, and disciple others.
Evangelism: Embrace the opportunity to participate in evangelism alongside another local pastor in the Kansas City area. Our internship team will spend a day learning effective evangelism techniques and then putting our newfound knowledge into action, spreading the gospel and impacting lives in our community.
These growth-focused experiences are designed to deepen your understanding of Scripture, develop your leadership skills, and empower you to share the love of Christ effectively!
Financial Investment & Assistance
At King’s Church, we are committed to investing in the next generation, and one way we demonstrate this commitment is by providing financial support for our summer internship program.
Cost Breakdown:
St. Louis 2-Day Trip: $100
Food and Housing: $500
St. Joe Evangelism: $50
Books: $100
Other Expenses: $100
Total Cost: $850
Through our investment in your growth and development, we are pleased to offer financial assistance, reducing the total cost to $750.
At King’s Church, we believe in removing barriers and empowering individuals to pursue their calling and deepen their faith. For this reason, during the interview process, we will discuss payment options further to ensure that financial considerations do not hinder your participation in this valuable opportunity.
