 A TWO-YEAR DISCIPLESHIP JOURNEY AT KING’S CHURCH

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. – Ephesians 3:20-21

As we look to our future, we are full of faith that God will continue to do abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine. Yet, He will not do it without us. He will do it through us as we take bold steps of faith in obedience to what God is calling us to do.

Our primary desire in this Stronger initiative is for you to truly hear from God and obey whatever He tells you to do as we partner together to impact all of eternity. We should leverage everything God has given us – time, talent, and treasure – all for His glory and invest in eternity instead of storing up treasures on Earth. It will require us to sacrifice time, comfort, resources, certainty and other temporary things to invest in eternal things that never fade.

This booklet provides a basic outline of the two-year discipleship journey set before each and every one of us. We invite every single person to prayerfully consider what it is that God has called them to do as a part of this Stronger Initiative.

Our lives are full, but imagine our lives being defined by the fullness of life that Christ purchased for us on the cross. I can’t wait to see what God does in you and through you over the next two years.

King’s family, 

On November 2nd, 2019 Rebekah and I moved to Kansas City with a vision to plant a church that would reach the lost, multiply disciples and plant churches. On April 4th, 2021 we held the first King’s Church service and that vision started to become a reality. Since that moment we have seen God do what only He can do. The lost have been saved, the sick have been healed, a community has been formed, and disciples are being multiplied.

Ephesians 3:20-21 has become more than just a cute verse on a coffee mug. It’s become the testimony of our lives and the cry of our hearts.

What IS STRONGER?

THAT EVERY ONE OF US WOULD ASK OURSELVES “IS MY LIFE TRULY ROOTED IN AND BUILT ON THE ROCK OF JESUS CHRIST, OR AM I BUILDING MY LIFE ON SOMETHING ELSE?”

Primary goal

100% PARTICIPATION

For every person to take bold steps of faith in obedience to Jesus in three primary areas:

  • Faith. Changes. Everything. Without faith, you can’t please God. So, what is your next step of faith?

    • Go public with my faith in baptism (Matthew 3)

    • Repent of a self-centered life, put Christ & His Kingdom at the center of everything

    • Repent of giving into fear and say yes to whatever God tells me to do

    • Renounce the lie that God can’t use me

    • Commit to being a bold witness through BLESS (Matthew 28:16-20)

    • Share Christ with my neighbors and sphere of influence by my word and works

  • Leadership, by definition, is influence. What is the next step in your leadership development?

    • Be discipled through The Path

    • Disciple someone through The Path

    • Raise my hand to be trained to lead a group or a ministry team

    • Receive training to become a leader of leaders (2 Timothy 2:2)

    • Respond to God’s call to join or lead a church plant (Acts 13)

    • Take ownership for the spiritual leadership of my life and my home

  • God gave us His only beloved Son, and He calls us to give generously of our resources for His Kingdom purposes. What is your next step in generosity?

    • Give a gift of faith for the first time

    • Take the 90-day tithe challenge to begin giving God my first & best (Proverbs 3:9-10)

    • Become a sacrificial giver, intentionally reducing my standard of living to increase my standard of giving (2 Corinthians 8:3)

    • Become an eternal giver, strategically considering how to leverage earthly treasure for eternal impact (1 Timothy 6:6-19)

    • Give a gift of extravagant generosity

Our secondary goal is to grow stronger in 4 key areas over the next two years to set us up for starting campuses and churches across the KC metro and beyond. We are believing God for $1.4 Million to accomplish all that He has called us to do.

As disciples, we seek to ensure that upcoming generations have a place to be discipled without hindrance; we gather in small groups to lift up the name of Jesus and we step into the mission field by serving our church-body, our local community, and around the world. We are committed to deepening our relationships with Jesus and are in anticipation of what God will do in us. And through us.

Developing a leadership pipeline to cultivate a harvest of leaders for the needs of today, tomorrow and future multiplication. We are committed to training the next generation of leaders through ministry-specific internships & leadership positions in NEXT GEN, Operations, Connections, Missions, Media, and Worship.

STRONGER Families

Our goals include completing the King’s Kids & lobby remodel to allow more children to experience the love and life of Jesus Christ. Start an adoption fund to support families who have a heart to give children a home. And continue to build NEXT GEN Team to ensure we are providing the best ministry possible to children and their parents.

STRONGER Ministries

Our God is a defender of the weak, a father to the fatherless, and He is raising up a generation of men and women who care about those the world has forgotten. Therefore, we are on a mission to bring the light of Christ to the hurting and lost of this world. We will support foster families, love kids with special needs, fight for the unborn, welcome refugees, fight for the faith of the next generation, and more!

FAQs

  • The STRONGER initiative replaces the LEGACY offering. If you haven’t already, please transfer your recurring giving to the STRONGER initiative.

  • You can give to STRONGER anytime you like online or in person.

    We will have a special gift day on April 27th. Other than that we will remind the church of STRONGER throughout the year, but no special gift days except for year-end offerings.

  • No problem at all, you can give to STRONGER at any point in 2025-2027 online or in person. The gift days are simply the initial moment we’re asking everyone who calls King’s home to consider their giving for the coming year.
